In a 2018 ‘Remodeling Cost vs Value survey’ the average amount of money recouped from home renovations was 56% of the cost. According to Remodeling Magazine, roof and window replacements yielded some of the best returns at 80% or more of the cost. Steel entry doors exceeded that, recouping 91.3% of the cost at resale. Additionally, external renovations have been on a consistent upward trend, while interior remodels show the opposite.
